§§- 3in M1902 à Fort Meade, South Dakota

De la part de Steven Meska, un canon de campagne Américain de 3 in  M1902 à Fort Meade, South Dakota, USA, sur le Parade Ground

"Here are some pictures of a US Model 1902 field gun that I found while on a motorcycle ride in South Dakota. This is on the parade ground in Ft. Meade. As you can see from the markings the barrel was made in Germany at Rheinmetal, (Rheinische Metallwaren und Maschinfabrik,) so I think this might be a somewhat rare version."

The M1902 was based on the Ehrhardt M1900 field gun. The US imported a number of these guns around 1900. I knew that the design of the M1902 was based on the Ehrhardt gun but it looks as if you've turned up proof that the barrel was interchangeable between the guns. The M1902 carriage and breech were quite different designs compared with the Ehrhardt gun.
